💥 Gibside Stables is approximately a 20-minute walk from the reception building and includes mixed terrain and a steep-incline, so we’d recommend arriving onsite at least 30 minutes before the workshop begins and wearing sturdy footwear.

Come along and spend a lovely few hours getting into the Christmas spirit, creating your very own traditional Christmas wreath using beautiful seasonal foliage and festive decorations.

We’ll start by mossing your wreath ring before binding a selection of festive, seasonal foliage onto the mossed frame. Then comes the fun part... decorating your wreath! You’ll have three different styles to choose from, so you can create something that suits your own taste and your home.

🎄 Traditional – A classic Christmas palette of reds and greens, including artificial red berries, dried fruit, pinecones and other festive touches.

🍋 Country Classic – A more pared-back, natural style with a lovely country feel, featuring lemons, feathers, pinecones and seasonal elements.

❄️ Winter White – A beautiful frosty palette with artificial white berries, dried fruit and other elements for a softer winter look.

And to finish things off, we have a large selection of pre-made bows for you to choose from. With so many different styles and colours, you're bound to find something you like!

Once your wreath is complete, we'll finish it with a backing to help protect both your wreath and your door, so it's ready to hang and enjoy throughout the festive season.

This is a lovely, relaxed workshop where you can take your time, get creative and enjoy a little Christmas cheer. Whether you're making a wreath for your own front door or creating something special as a gift, I'd love to welcome you along.

Accessibility: An access bus is sometimes available to help visitors reach the Stables. It runs from the Market Place up to the Stables at quarter past the hour, and back again at half past the hour. If you’d like to use the bus, please email gibside@nationaltrust.org.uk before your visit to confirm it’s running on the day. If it isn’t, we’ll do our best to help arrange an alternative for you.

Come along to beautiful Crook Hall Gardens and create your very own natural Christmas wreath, using a beautiful vine base, moss and a lovely selection of fresh, seasonal foliage.

This is a slightly more pared-back style of wreath, perfect if you love a natural, understated look.

We’ll start by adding moss to your vine base before binding on a good choice of fresh, festive foliage. You can choose how much of the natural vine you’d like to leave exposed for a more relaxed, contemporary feel, or you can take your foliage all the way around for a fuller look. The choice is yours!

Then comes the fun part... decorating your wreath.

You’ll have a lovely selection of natural decorations to use from fresh berries, dried fruits, pinecones and other seasonal touches. And, of course, we’ll have a choice of ribbons to finish it off.

This is a beautiful natural wreath and a lovely opportunity to spend a few hours getting creative with fresh foliage and natural materials, while making something special to take home and enjoy throughout the Christmas season.

Looking for an alternative to a traditional Christmas wreath? Why not come along and create a beautiful festive swag instead!

This is a lovely, slightly different way to decorate your front door, gate or even a garden shed or outhouse. A little bit old-fashioned, a little bit rustic and full of seasonal charm.

We'll start by binding together a variety of fresh, seasonal foliage branches to create the base of your swag. Think of it as a traditional broom shape, without the handle, made with beautiful festive greenery.

Then comes the fun part... decorating!

You'll have a choice of two lovely colour schemes, so you can create something to suit your own style:

🎄 Traditional Red – A warm combination with festive decorative elements such as artificial berries, pinecones, dried fruits and other seasonal touches.

❄️ Winter White – A softer, frosty palette with beautiful winter-inspired decorations, creating a lovely elegant finish.

Once you've attached your decorations, we'll bring everything together with a beautiful bow of your choice to finish off your swag.

Come along to beautiful Crook Hall Gardens and create your very own hand-tied bouquet, using fresh flowers in rich, seasonal colours.

This is a lovely workshop for anyone who enjoys working with flowers and would like to learn how to create a beautiful bouquet to keep or give as a special Christmas gift.

We'll start by creating our bouquets using the spiral technique, learning how to bring the flowers together to create a lovely, natural shape. We'll be working with fresh flowers in rich, seasonal colours, perfect for adding a little festive warmth to your home.

Once your bouquet is finished, we'll gift wrap it beautifully and present it in an aqua bubble, helping to keep your flowers fresh and ready to enjoy.

Whether you're making a fabulous Christmas present for someone special or simply fancy treating yourself, the choice is yours!
