FLORISTRY WORKSHOPS ACROSS THE NORTH EAST

We offer our workshops at various National Trust venues (Gibside, Crook Hall Gardens and Souter Lighthouse), welcoming people from across the North East including Newcastle, Sunderland, South Shields and Durham.

Our workshops are informative for those wanting to learn more, supportive for those wanting to have a go, and always relaxing if you just want to take a bit of time to yourself.

I demonstrate professional floristry techniques and share the tips and tricks to help you get the best out of your designs.

  • Summer Flower Bouquet Workshop

    Saturday 20th June 2026 | 11am

    Souter Lighthouse, South Tyneside

    £50 per person

    Celebrate the abundance of summer at our Summer Bouquet Workshop, set against the stunning coastal backdrop of Souter Lighthouse.

    In this relaxed and creative session, you’ll learn how to create a beautiful hand-tied bouquet using the classic spiral technique, working with a vibrant selection of seasonal flowers.

    With the sweeping views to inspire you, this workshop offers the perfect opportunity to slow down, switch off, and enjoy a few mindful hours immersed in flowers.

    You’ll be guided step by step as you build your bouquet, before finishing it with a carefully gift-wrapped aqua bubble, ready to take home and enjoy.

    Whether you’re new to floristry or simply looking for a creative escape by the coast, this workshop is designed to be welcoming, and full of summer colour and creativity.

    Our workshops at The Northern Flower Garden are always fun and supportive where I demonstrate professional floristry techniques, share the tips and tricks and we’ll keep the creativity flowing with our own teas, coffees and cake.

    Duration: up to 2 hours.

    We will be located in the Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre beside Souter Lighthouse, not the actual Lighthouse.

    This venue is fully accessible for all visitors, with step-free access throughout.

    Dried Seascape Arrangements

    Saturday 27th June 2026 | 11am

    Souter Lighthouse, South Tyneside

    Create an elegant, long-lasting arrangement at our Dried Seascape Workshop, inspired by the natural beauty of the coast at Souter Lighthouse.

    In this creative session, you’ll work with a thoughtfully curated selection of sustainable dried materials and grasses, styled in soft, bleached tones to reflect a relaxed seaside aesthetic.

    Your arrangement will be carefully built using preserved moss and chicken wire, allowing you to create a natural, textured display.

    With gentle guidance throughout, you’ll explore how to balance shape, tone, and texture to achieve a piece that feels both effortless and refined.

    Your finished design will make a striking table centrepiece—one that can be enjoyed in your home long after the season has passed.

  • Summer Flowers Arrangement

    £55 per person

    Immerse yourself in the beauty of an English summer garden at our Summer Flower Arrangement Workshop, set within the beautiful grounds of Crook Hall.

    In this creative and hands-on session, you’ll explore how to construct your own natural container using fresh foliage, shaping it to form a beautifully organic base for your design.

    Once your structure is complete, you’ll arrange a selection of seasonal summer flowers within it, using plant-based Oasis Renewal Floral Foam to support your design.

    With guidance throughout, you’ll learn how to balance colour, texture, and form to create an arrangement that is full of seasonal character.

    Surrounded by the inspiring gardens of Crook Hall, this workshop offers the perfect opportunity to slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy a few mindful hours of creativity.

    Our workshops at The Northern Flower Garden are always fun and supportive where I demonstrate professional floristry techniques, share the tips and tricks and we’ll keep the creativity flowing with crafted drinks and homemade bakes from the National Trust team at Crook Hall Gardens.

    Venue Details: Car parking charges apply at Crook Hall Gardens for non-National Trust members. On arrival, please show proof of your workshop booking at the welcome buildings to gain free admission and can our National Trust members please also have your membership card scanned as usual.

    Biosecurity: To help protect and conserve Crook Hall’s Gardens, all plant material that enters and leaves the site is bagged and sealed. Therefore we will ask you to also seal your designs in the bags we will provide as you leave.
