We offer our workshops at various National Trust venues (Gibside, Crook Hall Gardens and Souter Lighthouse), welcoming people from across the North East including Newcastle, Sunderland, South Shields and Durham.
Our workshops are informative for those wanting to learn more, supportive for those wanting to have a go, and always relaxing if you just want to take a bit of time to yourself.
I demonstrate professional floristry techniques and share the tips and tricks to help you get the best out of your designs.

Celebrate the beauty of late summer at our Dahlia Flower Arranging Workshop at Crook Hall. Set within the inspiring surroundings of these beautiful historic gardens, this workshop is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the colour, texture, and abundance of the season.
Working with seasonal dahlias and complementary late summer flowers, you'll create your own floral arrangement while exploring the importance of line and movement in floral design. With gentle, supported guidance throughout, you'll learn how to use shape, structure, and placement to create a natural, balanced arrangement full of character and seasonal charm.
Sustainability is at the heart of this workshop, and we will be working with plant-based Oasis Renewal Floral Foam to support your design. Surrounded by the inspiring planting schemes and beautiful borders of Crook Hall Gardens, you'll be encouraged to take inspiration from the landscape and interpret it in your own unique way.
Whether you're new to floristry or looking to develop your skills, this relaxed and creative workshop offers the perfect opportunity to slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy a few mindful hours surrounded by flowers. Autumn Terrarium Workshop at Souter Lighthouse

Discover the fascinating world of closed terrariums at our Autumn Inspired Terrarium Workshop at Souter Lighthouse. Set against the magnificent coastal backdrop, this relaxed and creative workshop is a wonderful opportunity to slow down, learn something new, and create your own tiny world inspired by the colours and textures of autumn.
Perfect for beginners, we’ll explore the foundations of creating a healthy closed terrarium, including the different substrates and layers needed to create the right environment for your plants. You’ll also discover which plants are best suited to a closed terrarium and how to care for them, before exploring the design elements that can help you create a miniature landscape with balance, texture, and visual interest.
With an autumnal twist, you’ll have a beautiful selection of plants and natural elements to work with, allowing you to create a terrarium that captures the mood of the changing season. With supported, step-by-step guidance throughout, you’ll be encouraged to develop your own ideas and create a design that feels personal to you.
This workshop offers the perfect opportunity to take some time out and enjoy a few mindful hours immersed in nature and creativity. You’ll leave with your own autumn-inspired closed terrarium—a little living landscape to bring the beauty of the season into your home.

Welcome in the season at our Autumn Wreath Workshop at Gibside Stables, where we'll celebrate the rich colours and textures of autumn with a beautiful fresh wreath for your home.
In this relaxed and creative workshop, you'll learn how to bind a selection of seasonal foliage onto a freshly mossed wreath ring, creating a natural and abundant base for your design. With supported guidance throughout, you'll be shown each step of the process, making this workshop suitable for both beginners and those with previous floristry experience.
Once your foliage base is complete, you'll have the opportunity to personalise your wreath with a choice of autumnal embellishments, adding colour, texture, and your own creative touch. Celebrate the richness of the autumn harvest at our Autumn Harvest Flower Arranging Workshop at Gibside. Inspired by the changing colours of the season and the abundance of the estate, this relaxed and creative workshop invites you to create a beautiful harvest-inspired arrangement to take home and enjoy.
Working in a rustic basket, you'll arrange a beautiful selection of seasonal flowers alongside autumnal foliage and grasses, with apples gathered from the Gibside estate. Together, these natural elements will create a design full of warmth, texture, and the rich colours that make autumn such a special time of year.

Halloween Wreath Making at Souter Lighthouse

Embrace the mystery and beauty of the season at our Halloween Wreath Making Workshop at Lighthouse. Inspired by the shape of the autumn moon, you'll create a striking crescent-shaped wreath that celebrates Halloween with natural textures, rich seasonal colours, and a contemporary botanical style.
In this relaxed and creative workshop, you'll begin by binding moss and autumnal foliage onto a crescent-shaped wreath frame, creating a beautifully textured foundation for your design. From there, you'll add an abundance of carefully selected dried and preserved botanical materials in dramatic shades of black, deep red, purple, and burnt orange, capturing the rich colours and atmosphere of the season.
To complete your wreath, you'll finish your design with seasonal touches including pine cones, miniature pumpkins, and a statement bow, creating a beautifully balanced piece that's both elegant and full of Halloween character. Traditional Christmas Wreath Workshop at Gibside Stables

Come along and spend a lovely few hours getting into the Christmas spirit, creating your very own traditional Christmas wreath using beautiful seasonal foliage and festive decorations.
We’ll start by mossing your wreath ring before binding a selection of festive, seasonal foliage onto the mossed frame. Then comes the fun part... decorating your wreath! You’ll have three different styles to choose from, so you can create something that suits your own taste and your home.
🎄 Traditional – A classic Christmas palette of reds and greens, including artificial red berries, dried fruit, pinecones and other festive touches.
🍋 Country Classic – A more pared-back, natural style with a lovely country feel, featuring lemons, feathers, pinecones and seasonal elements.
❄️ Winter White – A beautiful frosty palette with artificial white berries, dried fruit and other elements for a softer winter look.
And to finish things off, we have a large selection of pre-made bows for you to choose from. With so many different styles and colours, you're bound to find something you like!
Once your wreath is complete, we'll finish it with a backing to help protect both your wreath and your door, so it's ready to hang and enjoy throughout the festive season.

Natural Vine Christmas Wreath at Crook Hall Gardens

Come along to beautiful Crook Hall Gardens and create your very own natural Christmas wreath, using a beautiful vine base, moss and a lovely selection of fresh, seasonal foliage.
This is a slightly more pared-back style of wreath, perfect if you love a natural, understated look.
We’ll start by adding moss to your vine base before binding on a good choice of fresh, festive foliage. You can choose how much of the natural vine you’d like to leave exposed for a more relaxed, contemporary feel, or you can take your foliage all the way around for a fuller look. The choice is yours!
Then comes the fun part... decorating your wreath.
You’ll have a lovely selection of natural decorations to use from fresh berries, dried fruits, pinecones and other seasonal touches. And, of course, we’ll have a choice of ribbons to finish it off.
This is a beautiful natural wreath and a lovely opportunity to spend a few hours getting creative with fresh foliage and natural materials, while making something special to take home and enjoy throughout the Christmas season.
